The Swiss Epic 2018 was held in Switzerland just two days after the World Championship in Lenzerheide, another world-class cycling event. Five days, 331 kilometers, and a 12,550-meter ascent were the starting point of one of the most grueling competitions on the international MTB calendar.
Set against a spectacular natural backdrop, the different stages of the race put the fighting spirit and desire to succeed of the two members of the BUFF® SCOTT MTB TEAM, who gave it their all in this tough competition, to the test. Francesc Guerra and Enrique Morcillo proved that they were solid competitors from the start with strong possibilities of making it to the podium, even taking second and third place, respectively, on the second and third stage of the race. However, after a titanic effort in the first stages, the duo finished in eighth place on the fourth day after Enrique Morcillo ran into problems around 3,000 meters above sea level. But they managed to secure fourth place overall in the fifth and final stage, a satisfying end to the Swiss round for the pair and evidence of the duo’s excellent physical condition.
