THE BRAND RENEWS ITS SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH THE GRANDVALIRA AND ORDINO ARCALÍS SKI RESORTS FOR TWO MORE SEASONS AND RETAINS TWO-TIME ALPINE SKI WORLD CUP CHAMPION TINA WEIRATHER AS AN AMBASSADOR

BUFF® has reaffirmed its commitment as one of the main sponsors of the Pyrenees ski resorts Grandvalira and Ordino Arcalís by renewing its collaboration agreement until 2021. The two resorts enjoy an international positioning thanks to their favourable locations and excellent conditions for winter sports. The Grandvalira and Ordino Arcalís resorts are among the top downhill and freeride ski resorts in the world.

As Sergi Muñoz, Sports Marketing Coordinator for BUFF®, explains: “Year after year, Andorra is considered one of the leading ski destinations for people from all over the world and Grandvalira is the main reason why. With its high international profile and constant growth, this is a highly relevant ski area in which to position our brand and reach foreign markets. Moreover, freeride remains an important discipline for BUFF® and Ordino Arcalís is a benchmark for those who practice this sport.”

Both sponsorships include the provision of BUFF® technical products that have been specially designed for protection against adverse weather conditions for the use of resort staff. This season, Grandvalira employees will wear hats from the SNOW line of the brand’s LIFESTYLE collection, as well as the brand’s redesigned Original tubular made from recycled plastic bottles. InOrdino Arcalís, meanwhile, they will also wear various Knitted hat models from the LIFESTYLE collection depending on their role and, as well as the Thermonet® neckwear model, which is made from Primaloft® yarn.

In addition, BUFF® is retaining the downhill skier Tina Weirather among its portfolio of elite athletes and is extending their sponsorship relationship for two more years. Tina, who was born in Liechtenstein, will participate in the 2019 and 2020 World Cup as well as in the 2021 World Championships to be held in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The skier will wear the new Reversible Polar Neckwarmer manufactured for the first time with recycled Primaloft threads as well as the Thermonet® tubular. For après-ski, Tina will wear knitted hats from the LIFESTYLE collection and two custom models of the Trucker hat.

Sergi Muñoz, Sports Marketing Coordinator for BUFF®, commented on the renewed agreement:“Tina is a great athlete who helps us to position ourselves within the winter sports industry and provides us with great visibility on an international level. In addition, she participates in various UNICEF projects that we would like to support and partner with. We’ve been working together for four years and both parties are very happy to extend our partnership to 2021.”
