Our passion and love for nature (our core values) was the driving force behind our discovery of EOCA as the perfect partner for collaborating on different projects targeted at environmental conservation.

In 2011, we became members of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA), initially providing full funding for three projects, which boosted the Association’s funding capacity by 30% in that year.

Eco- Friendly products

So deep was its commitment to the Association that, in 2013, ORIGINAL BUFF® became the first company to launch the environmental giving programme, ‘Summit Membership’. Through this initiative, which is still running today, the brand not only supports a variety of projects, ut also allocates 1% of proceeds from the sale of any designs in its ‘Merino Wool Buff’ range listed as ‘Eco-Friendly Products to environmental conservation projects.

In 2016, EOCA had its tenth birthday, and to celebrate the occasion, along with the impressive fundraising figure of 2 million euros over this decade, it set itself the target of planting 2 million trees around the world, during the next 2 years. The initiative kicked off with five projects, which are underway in Madagascar, India, Malawi, Borneo and Kenya.

BUFF® has been an integral part of the ‘Summit Membership’ programme, fully funding one of the initiatives in the ‘Heart of Scotland Forest Project’.   This activity is driven by the UK charity, John Muir Trust, which aims to restore trees to the sparse sections of Schiehallion, one of Scotland’s most iconic hills.  The main goal is to increase woodland across 35 hectares by planting 8,000 native trees, whilst protecting existing areas to promote the natural regeneration of around 15,000 trees, and connecting them to the existing 240 hectares of forest land.

In addition, as part of EOCA’s tenth birthday celebrations, BUFF® was included amongst the ‘Ten Faces of EOCA’, as featured on the organization’s website, bringing together the ten organizations/brands/individuals who have been key to the Association’s success over these years.
