BUFF® Professional aims to create products that enhance workers’ safety in potentially dangerous conditions using manufacturing processes with minimal impact on the environment, in line with the company’s mission to operate according to clear sustainability criteria.
Along these lines, the BUFF® department of innovation and design has been working with the supplier Primaloft® to create a synthetic fleece made of 85% recycled material, which replaces the previous synthetic lining in all POLAR products in the Professional range.
The new sustainable fabric has been obtained by recycling plastic bottles and applying a clean finish to Primaloft® fibres, resulting in a durable and functional material that provides superior softness and warmth while retaining heat in low temperatures.
Its high level of breathability, quick-drying fabric and great thermal insulation capacity make this eco-friendly material an excellent ally for anyone who works in cold environments, both indoors (food and refrigeration industries, supermarkets, etc.) and outdoors (postal, construction, or parks maintenance workers, police officers, etc.).
The range of BUFF® Professional products that include this new recycled synthetic fleece comprises the POLAR tubular, with an upper part that’s also made of recycled microfibre and a lower part made from the new fleece; the POLAR NECKWARMER, a polar tubular that’s shorter than the previous version for a better fit around the neck; the POLAR HAT, which is ideal for use under helmets; KNITTED & POLAR HAT (and its REFLECTIVE version), with a mix of knit and fleece inside; and the POLAR BALACLAVA, which covers the entire head and can also be worn under a helmet.
