The 2nd Edition of the BUFF® Mountain Festival and 5th BUFF® Epic Trail is here!
The distinguished Pyrenees mountain festival has returned with an extensive program of sports, leisure, and cultural activities for the whole family!
Now in its 2nd edition, the BUFF® Mountain Festival is an international event that will be held in the Vall de Boí on June 29 & 30 and July 1, 2018. A series of sports, recreational and cultural activities will be held. Fun for all ages!
A 360º festival for athletes of all levels, from Amateur to Professional. Competitions, hiking, culture, children’s activities and adventure sports come together at the BUFF® Mountain Festival.
The main challenge leading up the sporting event is the BUFF® Epic Trail: high mountain races with four different trail distances to choose from: 65, 42, 26 and 11 km. It is worth mentioning that beginning this year, the longest trail at 65 km, will be named the Joan Rojas Memorial Trail. Joan Rojas was the founder of Original BUFF®, and passionately supported previous editions of the festival.
Also note: the 42 km challenge is part of the MIF Run Skyrunners World Series of the ISF, the most prestigious mountain circuit in the world, attracting some of the best trail running athletes to the Vall de Boí.
BTT Marathon Cup – Cycling Challenges
There will also be a test of the Scott BTT Marathon Cup Circuit, a mountain bike challenge that will take place in idyllic settings of the Vall de Boí. The Catalonia Climbing Championship Block of the FEEC and a mountain duathlon, will allow the participants to enjoy incomparable landscapes for the running and bicycle challenges.
Trekking: Vall de Boí Trek
In addition, the festival will feature various leisure and cultural activities, such as the Fallas Festival, the Romanesque circuit, Vall de Boí TREK, the Nordic march, Torelló Film Festival, and many other activities for the whole family such as yoga, family biking excursions, children’s races, etc.
The youngsters will also have their special space in Barruera, where an area will be set up with children’s activities like inflatables, ziplines, children’s races, games, and workshops.
For the more adventurous types, adventure sports will continue to be part of the BUFF® Mountain Festival: via ferrata, rafting, canyoning, tandem paragliding, etc.
This year, the BUFF® Mountain Festival goes a step beyond by organizing a series of inclusive sports events aimed at participants with vision problems. The events will benefit the Obra Social de La Caixa.
