SUSTAINABLE WARMTH: BUFF® INCORPORATES RECYCLED PRIMALOFT® SYNTHETIC FLEECE INTO ITS PRODUCTS
In line with its active commitment to the environment and mission to incorporate ever more recycled materials into its models, the sports accessory brand BUFF® has updated 70% of its products made with synthetic fleece lining in favour of fleece that contains 85% recycled material. This is supplied by Primaloft®, the leading innovator in thermal fabrics and yarns.
The new fabric has been obtained by recycling plastic bottles and applying a clean finish to Primaloft® fibres, resulting in a durable and functional material that provides superior softness and warmth while reducing the impact on the environment.
Another characteristic of this new eco-material is its high level of breathability. This, along with its quick-drying properties, draws moisture and odours away from the skin. This fleece is also an effective thermal insulator, retaining heat even in the most extreme cold and making it a winter essential.
Among the new BUFF® pieces presented for the 2019/20 season with this new sustainable fabric is the Polar model neck warmer, with an upper part made from microfibre – also recycled – and a bottom part made from the new fleece. There’s also the Polar Neckwarmer, a shorter fleece tube offering a better fit for the neck, and the Reversible Polar Neckwarmer with a two-in-one design featuring two layers of fabric. What’s more, this new material has also been used in protective headwear, such as the Polar Hat and the Polar Balaclava for kids.
